What are Trackbacks?
If you are a blogger, then you must have heard about trackbacks. What are trackbacks? A Trackback is a type of Linkbacks, methods for Web authors to request notification when somebody links to one of their documents. This enables authors to keep track of who is linking them and referring to their articles. For example you posted something really interesting and one of your reader who also own a blog give link to your article on his blog. This is trackback and in softwares like wordpress you get to know this and the blog which link you back will come in the incoming links of the dashboard.
These trackbacks are really important for the traffic of the blog because it makes the blog and the author credible and people think that the posts on your blog are worth to be linked back. Its really useful for your blog as it will bring alot of unique traffic to your blog from other blogs who linkback to you on their own blogs. And it also build your blogs’ backlinks and so improves your search engine results.
