One of the most common mistake made by people is Creating a duplicate title tag or you can say poor titles. Title tags are the words that comes on the top of your browser which are the first thing that search engines look for and give a lot of importance to titles.

The next thing is poor site usability. Its how easy it is for the visitor to navigate your site and when its all messed up and the visitor cant find what its looking for, it will be a problem for you as you are losing visitors and also for search engines.

Insufficient content or you can say lack of Quality content. Writing quality content is really important if you want to get traffic so when there will be no content, there will be no visitors and so no traffic for your website and no earnings. So its better you update your site on regular basis with quality content and it will be good for you.

Linking to other sites have to done very carefully as well. Spamming has become such a problem that the search engines have really changed their algorithms with respect to linking. Linking to sites with no PR or no quality content can be bad for your site when it comes to SEO so link to sites that have high PR and are good.

Last but not least, Same meta description on every page is another common mistake people make. These elements are included in duplicate content filter checks by the search engines. Meta Tags are the description that the search engine uses for your web page, so make sure its describes your blog properly.

Then i kept on applying the different things i got to know with time and it worked out pretty well and then i started few more blogs with my friend and they were successful. Some people do think that blogging is really easy and the only thing you need to do is install a blog and start posting and let me tell you that this is not true. You have to take care of many things apart from posting which matters a lot to the site. This was the same mistake i made when i started blogging that i focused on posting and didn’t do any research about the thing i was doing. Even when i think that i know all the things, i am absolutely wrong because there are so many things that i still have to learn.

Most of the sites depend on Google for there site traffic as its the best traffic for your site. Not specifically Google, traffic from any search engine is the best thing that can happen to your site. But you know that google is the browser majority of people use and google is the search engine which sends traffic to any site no matter how good or how bad it is. Whether its optimized or not but its all upto Google. They decide what to do. When i started my other sites, in the start i got really good traffic from Google for the first month and it also gave me good earnings but later it went down in serps and i was like “Wth i didnt do anything wrong why me” and my friend used to say dont worry it will be alright but dunno its in my nature that i take too much tension and kept blaming Google until it came back. I was happy but that happiness didnt lasted long until the site got down again and along with that earnings and traffic from my other  sites also went down. I talked to many people about what should i do to get everything back where it was and nothing was helpful but i still kept on posting and again the sites came back. So the whole point of telling this is that when the sites go down in serps dont worry alot and keep doing link building and also posting. You dont know when is your lucky day.

My whole first year has taught me so much and the main lessons i learned from blogging so far are :

• You should work hard in order to be successful
• Make yourself different from others. Just dont go around and start what other people are doing do something unique.
• Select a proper niche, a niche on which you have knowledge just dont go around searching for the high paying niches on which you dont have any knowledge
• Start multiple blogs as you dont know when google or any other search engine turn there back So always make a backup plan
• Blogging helped me connect to many new people.
• If you are a full time blogger, just dont sit in front of your pc all day, do some other activities as well and spend time with your loved ones.
• Do a research before starting a new blog or a website

• Keyword Spamming

It is adding Meta Keywords that are not at all related to your sites. For Example, you are running a health and fitness blog and in its Meta, You write Miley Cyrus and repeats it alot of times. Now thats not good becuase its kinda useless. Hope you get the point.

• Keyword Crowding

This occurs when the TITLE tag is one long string of keywords, without cohesion or unity. SImply when you write excessive keywords strings in your title tag. Some Search Engine might not blacklist it but some will do, It all depends on them

• Keyword Repetition

It is actually good to repeat the keyword twice or thrice but not more then that because when you do that, search engines ignore those keywords. But in some cases they might blacklist you. So its always better you just add you most important keywords in meta but do not repeat them.

Now coming to the point about how you can avoid this. There are several simple ways and as mentioned above avoid doing the things i mentioned above and some that i am going to tell you.

• Submitting the same pages too often within a small period of time say 24 hours, may get you penalized by search engines.
• Avoid using irrelevant keywords in your meta tags as i just told you above because its one of the reason why Search Engines blacklist you so avoid this.
• Use of hidden text in webpages should be avoided as it cannot be seen by the surfers but when search engines will crawl your site they will find it.
• Avoid automated submissions to search engines and directories. As we all know that to increase PR we need to build backlinks. And they sometimes do exchange links with sites which are already penalized by search engines e.g Google. So check who you exchange link with.
• Now there is another thing known as Cloaking. What i call this is deceiving. The visitor sees a nicely designed and formatted page and the search engine robot scans a page of highly optimized text. If its caught, then search engines will penalize you and remove your site from there index.
• Another thing that can get you penalized but its not very common these days is using a free web hosting or a cheap web hosting company with frequent downtimes. Google may not like this that your site is going down after every hour or so. So choose a good host and you will face no problems.

So remember these things and i am sure search engines like Google and others will be nice to you and will index your site But if you do something that is not good then… you know what will happen.
