Search Engine Optimization for Wordpress 1

When i started my previous blog, i didnt knew what SEO or search engine optimization is and how it helps in getting traffic for blog. In 2 months i posted a lot of things but the results were not that good until a friend of mine, Moin, who is also a blogger gave me some information about what Search Engine Optimization is and after that when i applied the techniques he told me, the results were really fantastic.

The Main point behind this is that the main traffic is the organic traffic that comes from search engines like Google, Yahoo, Msn etc. Although social bookmarking sites like Digg, Stumbleupon etc. can bring floods of traffic but it do not bring earnings and for earnings the best traffic is the Organic traffic.

So this is the first part of How you can optimize your blog for search engines so that it comes on top when a keyword is searched. One of the most important thing that bring you on top of Google search is you backlinks in most of the cases.

Here are some Tips which i am sure if applied can help you improve your search engine traffic. Although some of Wordpress themes comes with some search engine optimization but most of them are not. You need to first of all edit some of the theme files like add the Meta Tags which are added in the header which contains information about the Description of the site , Keywords ( what it is all about ) and the title and if you dont know how to generate those tags thats not a problem that you should worry about now as you can generate with the help of AddMe Meta Tag Generator. After generating all you have to do is open your header.php file and paste the meta tags just before the lines you see below

and it will help you get a good search Engine ranking and when some one will search about something it will check your keywords as well.
